Classic servers are wildly popular, and a group of players are taking it upon themselves in World of Warcraft Classic to recreate a "fresh start" server in Classic.

Over 1000 World of Warcraft Classic Players have banded together against playing on over populated, toxic servers, in search of a fresh start. The group, dubbed “The Fresh Crusade”, has teamed up with plans of joining a low populated server to experience the classic game on a more traditional level. All players will be re-rolling brand-new characters together on March 5th with the goal of creating a fresh experience for all involved.

The event is due to go live on March 5 at 7 pm server time, and will take place on a yet-to-be-determined European realm. Caszhar says on the community Discord that they hope to have enough players to split into both Alliance and Horde. There are already seven guilds getting involved, and Caszhar hopes that they'll hit 2000 players by the time Friday rolls around.

One of the German players who are campaigning for the action is the digital expert and book author Dr. Frederik Weinert. Dr. Weinert not only drew our attention to the campaign in an email, he also revealed that over 3,000 players are now planning to take part in the campaign. At the weekend there were just over 1,000 Classic enthusiasts.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic was officially announced at BlizzConline last month, with the company stating that there will two different servers for those who want to continue the Classic experience pre-TBC as well as the regular servers which will start to transition to the expansion as the launch nears. We recently spoke with the developers behind The Burning Crusade Classic, talking about what players can expect when the update to the Classic servers rolls out.

It's a super wholesome idea, one rooted in the desire to make sure new or returning players don't feel left behind by high-level characters or pushed out of the ever-increasing economy. Caszhar said that "the support from people joining has been heart-warming to see," and that "people are really excited to start on Friday."
