Introducing the "Northern Star", our stunning Dala horses, handcrafted and hand-painted in Sweden. These beautiful Dala horses are true masterpieces of traditional Swedish folk art. Available in white and blue colors.

Dala horses: Hand-carved from a single piece of wood and individually decorated in the rich traditional patterns of flowers and flourishes which are based on the very old forms of peasant "kurbits" painting. The earliest reference of wooden horses for sale is from 1624, nearly 400 years ago. Decorated toy horses were being sold from some of the villages of Mora as early as the first half of the 19th century. In modern times, the Dala horse has become the symbol of Dalarna, as well as of Sweden in general.

This is handmade. Every Dala horse is unique and the pattern can be slightly different from the photo.
