Once all soldiers are dead you can finally loot all the items found at this gate ( Ballista Bolt x3, Golden Rune [1], and Golden Rune [2] ). Next, go into the entrance on the hillside adjacent to the front gate to find the Spot of Grace, a Golden Rune [5], and the mechanism to open the gate.
